I am originally from Alpena, MI. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Grand Valley State University and my Master of Social Work from Western Michigan University. Before making the decision to change my career path, I worked as a social worker at an inpatient psychiatric/medical unit for five years. Currently, I am leaning toward a specialty in psychiatry and would love to work in the inpatient setting while also working with Community Mental Health on the side. My leadership position for the Peru Medical Elective is treasurer, but I hope to be able to participate in the research projects while in Peru. I have been married for nearly six years and have a miniature dachshund.
