Our time here in the Amazon is slowly wrapping up. Today was our last full day in Peru and it was a very fun day! We got to do piranha fishing in the morning and we had a blast. It was very hot on the water but we pushed through and managed to catch a decent amount of piranha and even a couple catfish. They cooked them up for us and we had them with lunch. They are surprisingly a very tender and tasty fish. After lunch we went to Monkey island which is a rescue reserve for several different types of monkeys. The spider monkeys were very entertaining and the woolly monkeys interacted the most with the group. We had a nice relaxing evening by the pool and a dance party to round off the night at the lodge. It’s been another amazing trip to Peru and learned a lot again during clinic. Maybe I’ll have the chance to return again some day, but if not, I have a lot of great memories from the past 2 trips. Until next time Peru!
