First day of clinic in Iquitos was a success! This morning when we arrived at the clinic, which we spent hours setting up yesterday, we were greeted by hundreds of people waiting in a line that wrapped around the block to see us. We were soon informed that these people had started lining up to see us yesterday. I was shocked by the realization of the desperate need for medical care that some of these people face every day. My shock was quickly replaced by a motivation to help in any way possible. In my morning rotation in the pharmacy and my afternoon rotation in pediatrics I got the chance to
meet some of the Peruvians who sacrificed their days to see us and the chance to work with some talented and compassionate physicians and pharmacists. I am looking forward to all the learning experiences and for all that is to come in the upcoming clinic days!
