Today was our first day of clinic in Iquitos, Peru. It was incredibly humbling knowing that people lined up since last night just to see us. I was fortunate enough to start in podiatry, where I got to see a flexor tendonotomy for hammer toes and got to inject someone for plantar fasciitis. It was incredible to see how efficient this group of people could be. After a nice lunch, I headed up to internal med to brush up on my history and physical skills. By the end of the day, I was able to understand almost everything my patients were saying.
