Today was our first day at the clinic in Iquitos. When we arrived at the clinic around 8am today, there were already a long line of people outside. It seemed less people than last time but when you walked into the clinic it was already packed with patients. They were clapping and playing music for us as we walked from the buses. It’s such a good feeling to know these people are so happy that we are here to help them, and some just want someone who will listen to them. Today I rotated through OMT/general medicine and podiatry. I was able to do some injections for plantar fasciitis which is a great tool to have on hand since it’s such a common problem. We finished the day swimming in the hotel pool before going out to eat as a group. Looking forward to another day of clinic tomorrow.
