Brianne Feldpausch – 8/14

I can’t believe we have only been here two days. It’s been absolutely wonderful so far. Today, we went to a medical school in Lima where we listened to lectures on the overview of medical care in Peru and the health issues facing the Peruvian people. We toured their pharmaceutical botanical gardens. There are over 400 species of plants with a variety of medicinal uses. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about each and happy to teach us. The people were so kind and generous. I’m excited to begin our service in Iquitos on Wednesday!
