Today was our first full day in the rainforest of the Amazon. During the morning we set up clinic on the riverboat after docking near a small village. During my pediatrics rotation we saw quite a few kids, many of whom were brought in by their school teacher. After having lunch back at Ceiba Tops we were able to relax by the pool for a bit before going out piranha fishing on the Amazon. Our fantastic guides were able to find us the best fishing spots where we caught over two dozen piranhas and catfish. The cooks at Ceiba Tops even cooked up our fish as part of our dinner. After that we had a relaxing night of card games at the common area, and an early bedtime to get ready for our 5:30am departure time tomorrow for the canopy walk.
