Day 14 (08/13/2016) – Going Home? Off to Cuzco/Machu Picchu First
This note happens to be a little shorter as it is a travel day. It just happened to be one of the saddest travel days as I had to say goodbye to some amazing souls. I am extremely thankful to have had the opportunity to come on this trip, work with brilliant attendants, residents, classmates, volunteers and the translators from Spain and capture so much different culture from the different regions of Peru. I am going to miss everyone a lot as these past two weeks together were unforgettable and this trip has rekindled a passion for medicine that can sometimes be overshadowed by school struggles. I’d be lucky to come on this trip again, but even luckier to work and hang with all the people I built relationships with here. As I am not going home right away, I will have some time to reflect on these notes and I hope they will advance me to become a physician that resembles the ones I was able to work with.
