We had a great day today. The medical school in Lima is so beautiful! It’s historic and old and it really made me want to transfer. The language barrier definitely was a challenge today though; listening to lectures that had to be translated was a little difficult but interesting none the less. One really cool thing from the day was touring the botanical gardens. We were able to see all these plants and their many many medical uses.
After the tour we had a couple more lectures about the history of Peru and the medical school and then our own students gave a great lecture on OMM. It was awesome to see people there so interested in something we’re so passionate about.
Probably my favorite part of the day however, was after the presentation when we went and played volleyball with some Peruvians! They were so welcoming and it was great playing with them. Although we had to share the court with some other people playing basketball (there were a few close calls), it was awesome.
The traffic on the way home though was insane. Lima is busy all the time, which is the only reason so far that has made me not want to move here.
