Today we visited the oldest medical school in Peru: Universidad de Mayor de San Marco. We had such an incredible time taking a tour of the facilities including their very own botanical garden where students learn about the various medicinal properties of different wildlife. After lunch we attended lectures from the faculty about the Peruvian healthcare system and the state of medical education in the country. Our last activity before heading back was a lecture given by four of our very own students, led by fourth-year Sara Lang, to some of the medical faculty and students! They presented on the basics of osteopathic medicine and OMT. After teaching we were even able to demonstrate several OMT techniques on some of the attendees. Overall, a great day of learning, teaching, and spreading osteopathy!
