Lansing-Lima

I feel like travel itself can be an exercise in patience and flexibility.
But even when we were delayed by thunderstorms at the Atlanta airport, it was refreshing to know that I was traveling with a group that can take those kinds of circumstances in a stride.  To me, traveling is about keeping yourself open-minded and adaptive in order to really appreciate all that a country has to offer.  In my short time in Peru, I found myself recalling old High School Spanish I hadn’t used in years, and trying to adapt my ears to the flow of the language that wasn’t slowed down by instructors for the benefit of students. I’m at least happy to note that my ability to read Spanish hasn’t diminished, so getting around Lima on our sightseeing day won’t be hampered.
All things considered, I’m still excited for what tomorrow brings in our first full day in Peru!
