This morning, our time in Lima came to an end as we began our journey to Iquitos in Northeast Peru. By 5:45am, our group of 60+ individuals and at least 200 suitcases, most of which were filled with medications and medical supplies, had taken over our hotel lobby and shortly after, we boarded the buses to the airport.
Upon arriving to Iquitos, I was immediately struck by the stark difference in infrastructure between Lima and Iquitos. We spent the afternoon unloading our medications and supplies at the clinic. Afterwards, we had a nice dinner hosted by the Mayor’s team. Overall, it was a great day and I can’t wait to experience our first day at the Iquitos clinic!
