Hi everyone! My name is Rachel and I’m a fourth year student returning to the Peru clinic for the second time. (Woot!) This afternoon we attended a fantastic interactive lecture given by our Travis Gordon and Kenny Briceno, a pediatrician from Peru that has been part of the trip for the last five years. Dr. Gordon and Dr. Briceno taught a large group Peruvian nurses, clinical faculty, medical students and administrative staff about the invaluable use of osteopathic principles and manipulative medicine in clinical practice. We were so excited to see such an enthusiastic response from the crowd, who were very eager to receive manipulative treatment at the end of the lecture. Today was a phenomenal kick-off to the trip. Looking so forward to spending the next two weeks with this wonderful group of people helping those who need it. Blog again soon!
