Each year the students gather one final time as a group in preparation for their trip. Each student brings a large suit case big enough for 2 small children to fit in, and stuff it full of the medications that were purchased with their hard earned cash at all the fundraising events. This single day represents months of sweat, blood, tears, and extremely hard work. This year our students were exceptionally successful at raising money to purchase medication, and we can guarantee you that the Peruvians will be grateful for our hard work. From antibiotics, to gauze, to pregnancy tests, each student loads up to 40 or 50 pounds (depending on the airline) of materials into his or her suitcase. They each save a small amount of room for personal items and clothes, but the medications are the priority. This is a medical mission, after all!
