In April we were invited to hold a 50/50 raffle fundraiser at a meeting of the Detroit Gaelic League in Corktown. The event was entirely lively and entertaining, as all Irish celebrations are. There were multiple sessions by musical groups performing traditional Irish music, numerous dance acts done by local Irish dancing teams, and the members of the League enjoyed an in-house cooked meal with plenty of cold Guinness. Our fearless student-leader in Detroit, Asia, is a member of the Shannon Academy of Dance, and participated in a dance intended to teach members of the audience how to move their bodies with the music. The event was a great success for our mission. Pictures from the event, including our 50/50 winner, can be seen below.
